Future Of Electric Vehicle Charging Companies In India

The number of electric cars (EVs) on our roads is expected to increase dramatically over the next decade, and we predict that the majority of charging will take place at home. However, convenient charging outside of one’s house (or business) will be critical to EV expansion. Such “on-the-go” charge-ups will have to be as simple and convenient as fuelling an ICE car today.

It won’t be long before charging your electric vehicle (EV) is as simple as charging your phone at home. India’s goal of being a worldwide leader in the electric vehicle revolution is coming true. The Prime Minister’s recent announcement of a scrap page policy, the arrival of significant disruptors into the two-wheeler market, and the demand for electric four-wheelers outpacing supply are all evidence of the country’s commitment to and success in lowering transportation emissions. Clean, shared, and networked transportation is the way of the future. This has also increased the interest of electric vehicle charging companies in India

The FAME Scheme is at the forefront of the electric vehicle transition.

For example, a two-minimum wheeler’s acceptable range for receiving subsidies under the plan is 80 kilometres. A two-wheeler travels 17 kilometres per day on average, which is far less than the FAME Scheme’s criteria. As a result, charging an electric two-wheeler outside of your house or business is possible. Because the range is less, you won’t need to charge it every day.

Similarly, the average daily run for private four-wheelers is 32 km, whereas the average daily run for commercial four-wheelers (such as taxi services) is 192 km. These cars may be charged at home or at office buildings during the day. You can also charge the ones that are commercial at the charging points. 

This is a critical problem because knowing these characteristics of urban transportation and incorporating them into the development of EV chargers manufacturers would considerably reduce the cost of providing suitable EV charging infrastructure. There is a need of large scale infrastructure. But no the other hand we can also see that the cost can be controlled if you are starting the business. 

Setting up public charging infrastructure can be a difficult and costly task. 

It entails interrupting already crowded transport lanes, locating sufficient charging spots, and making significant financial investments in order to build a functional network of public EV charging infrastructure. Every fossil fuel selling outlet has already been told that EV charging stations are required. It is necessary to accelerate the pace of such installations. 

However, other alternatives such as charging stations in residential complexes, housing societies (including for visiting parking spots), shopping malls, parking lots, train stations, workplaces, and small stores must be supplied. A requirement that at least 10% of parking lots be set aside for access-controlled charging sites would make EVs even more appealing. 

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, we think, has already changed the residential property bye rules to require sufficient EV charging outlets in housing colonies/building units. This has to be added in mission mode right now
